About the android version: you have to ask yourself the question: do you really need so many updates? Android is already fully developed with the functions anyway and really many functions are no longer missing... And security updates are also available for four to five years (e.b. the Galaxy S7 still gets security updates...) if e.b. as with iOS would often still lack functions (e.b. the widgets that Apple had only implemented after Android for 8 years, or the app drawer, which was only installed ten years later by Apple and still lacks many functions) then you need updates.
