I have a S41 and its by far the best phone ive ever had. I forgot it on my car roof and drove of. At 60mph it fell onto tarmac and nothing happened to it. Any other glas cannon would have been shattered into pieces. I dont spend a fortune for just a fast processor. It works, forever, and this is what is needed, not only for the environment.
A have a few friends who works in construction and this phone seems to be the standard work phone these days

CAT is indeed an excellent group company, but now there are several excellent rugged mobile phone brands in China. Blackview BL5000, DOOGEE S88 PLUS, UleFone Power Armor 13, UleFone Armor 12 all have current world-popular configurations.
I have found CAT phones not to be what they state they are on their website and in their advertising. Definitely not as rugged as they make them out to be, for me. I will think twice before buying in the future.
they should make a better version for moms, with a high quality camera, that will be a hit xD moms always have problems with her phones because children are clumsy and they play a lot with phones 😆

hey there! thanks so much for this video! I'm outdoors a lot and often working as a cleaner/chef so a rugged phone really appeals to me, especially as I am quite clumsy. I am looking to work for deliver/uber eats ... very phone based outside work so thought the s42 would be a good companion to do a bit of that work too. Though after watching your video, I am afraid it won't be good for prolonged use of apps/navigation systems. What do you reckon? Would it do fine running an app like deliveroo and google maps for 4-6 hours at a time? Thanks so much again

I love CAT phone, it's a modest rugged phone, obviously, you can't compare it with modern Andriod phones. But CAT phones are known for their durability which is their USP
the internals are bad i can see the lag on screen
I had a S41 for 3 years and liked it a lot. Same observations as you say about the S42, its not super fast, but survived 3 years on my dirt bike. I bought a S42 last week, as the S41's battery seemed to have swollen. The S42 is just like you say. Very rugged, acceptably fast, camera is so-so

I've had alit of different smart phones over the last 15 years. This is my favourite so far. My battery lasts all day, and I'm a huge app user playing games and streaming content. It has a nice weight to it, I can see the screen in the daytime, ... The only thing I don't like is the speaker placement, but that's there because of waterproofing. I'm only buying Caterpillar phones from now on.

The absolute worst phone it has ever been my misfortune to own. 2 weeks after I received my S42 it kept disconnecting from the wi-fi. Send a report to Cat on their website.....guess what the answer was...."Switch to flight mode." So everytime I get into the office or at home, I must switch to flight mode! How the hell can anyone call me then? I tried to hold on for another 3 months. This afternoon, i've had it!!! I would much rather work on my old Samsung with cracked screen than EVER work on this piece of rubbish again!
Somebody that got this phone, what is the lifespan of the battery with use? Do you need to charge it every bloody day, or can you go on all week before it even start complaining?

I bought this phone exclusively on amazon, the main problem with this phone it doesn't have the fast charger so to charge the 4200 mah battery it really takes hours it's very long I've never seen that on a phone
to be honest for this price they can throw in a better Mediatek CPU not 4 low clocked ones
