I've been a fan of cubot phones for several years , Indeed my current phone is a cubot Power which is my favourite phone of all time that I've owned. Unfortunately I have ordered king Kong 5 pro months ago but seller appears to have taken my money & run .... Since then I am sure other similarly priced rugged phones have appeared. If you don't mind me asking your advice - what rugged , large battery phone would you recommend these days for a user who mainly watches you tube & is not particularly interested in gaming ?

There aren't many androids that are below 6.2 inches screen size. Whilst this phone is quite chunky it's length seems to be dare I say it a lot more compact than the majority of the competition. Do you happen to know if Cubot will supplying reasonably regular security updates? The reason why I ask is I'd be considering one for work and personal use to possibly replace my Honor 8A. Had one of these King Kong phones a few years ago - Terrible. Limited bands and the display brightness sucked. (Who cares if it went 17 hours on a charge?) I just don't understand the concept of a "rugged phone". Why not buy a better phone and then encase it in a better case? Anyhow... appreciate the reviews nevertheless.... These phones are niche' phones at best...
My Cubot King Kong 3 is still my longest battery life device with 17 hours screen on time. Very strong 4Glte antennas that work great on T-Mobile. Cheers

Honestly I don't think that any rugged phone is worth it... There not that durable at all (MrWhoseTheBoss made a video about that). Plus I've had a cubot phone and wasn't happy with it at all. In my opinion aim for Xiaomi, Realme & maybe oppo or Vivo?

brilliant, thanks for the link to your review Alex. i love my Kingkong Mini, i chose this phone after trying out iphone 4 (2014) which was ok but ultimately did not really like, more recently i tried Nokia 5 but did not like the size, just found it too big so started looking for smaller phones before deciding on the Cubot. the size of the Cubot Kingkong mini is not for everyone but i find it perfect for myself with only one hand. the sound from the speaker is ok, not perfect but fine for a phone. another great honest review, thankyou sir.

This one phone would be great its cheap and have good parameters. Sadly what idi*t gave it only 2000 battery? If it had 4000+ it would be amazing qnd for my or my family with we are not that much tall people so in our hands it would be like ok size xd. Well i ordered other cubot kingkong and that will be amazing excited for it

I bought this phone on Aliexpress for $100. Would not achieve 3G after 15 days of troubleshooting and going back and forth with Cubot and my carrier. The size and ruggedness was exactly what I was looking for. I went from a Blackview rugged phone to this b/c I wanted a "normal" size phone again that didn't look like a full size book in my pocket. But after struggling with the King Kong Mini 2 , I am happy to be back in my bulky Blackview phone. As soon as I popped my sim card back in my old phone, I was right back to 4G LTE. During my 1/2 month with the King Kong Mini 2 I could barely use apps once I left wifi (Google maps, Spotify, Social Media, etc.) Also, the battery life was poor. I thought the small screen and overall tiny size would save battery but it didn't. I am not a heavy phone user (half the time I don't even know where my phone is) and this phone at times didn't make it through a full day. Lastly, the touchscreen was much more stubborn than what I am used to. I would have to touch/click on something several times for it to take. Overall, it was everything I dreamed of taking it out of the box, until I turned it on and started using it. I guess trying to engineer quality that todays phones have into something this tiny just isn't possible quite yet, at least not for Cubot. My next phone I try out will be the Ulefone Armor X7 Pro (5" screen). It is not as small as the King Kong Mini 2 but it is not a giant phablet either. Hope my experience helps anyone looking to get into the smaller rugged phone arena.

Check out the new "Cubot King Kong Mini 2" it is nearly the same as the first one, only the battery is bigger now 3000 mah !!! (old 2000 mah)
I love this phone. I downgraded from a Note 10+. Since I bought a Surface Pro 7, I only need my phone as a hotspot, and to bluetooth music to my BTR5. But I've had a lot of fun putting nova launcher on this phone and making it look super cute.
