Got one of these with a Core I7 and 16gb of ram. I love it. This can be your main laptop depending upon how you use it. They are much more versatile and IMO more powerful than a ipad. Things like Micro SD for expansion and If you like to game you can get decent gaming performance.

Please don’t buy any surface products, software has many issues, they update it regularly, whenever new updates comes the system fails in many other hardware things...for me in last update and the keyboard and mouse stopped working...customer service is worst. Doesn’t worth the money we pay to those people!!!!

Another honest review: It have flickering and overheat problem.Now MS recognized it is a hardwareware problem. It will even become worsen after a year of usage when the warranty just expired. Worse part is MS cannot do anything when the warranty expired. As a gesture, they can only offer $20.00 towards buying another one of their new garbage. Change back to Mac. I would suggest customer organized for a petition for MS to do free repair as the car manufacturer did.

Hope ya'll look forward to forced updates that take hours at any given time. It's really cool when I'm on the road and truly need it to send an essential file. But no, I HAVE to do to a 45 minute update. Even better this place I'm staying has somewhat weak internet, so the update after 2 hours has now been locked "100% complete do not turn off computer" for 2 extra hours. It's so great. There's alotta things that drive me over the edge in this world, but this has gotta be the worst. It's almost like Microsoft is trying to f**k me, anally. My desktop gives me the option to update. Why can't this? You're telling me not one person in your entire production staff didn't suggest this might be a bad idea? Are ya'll just so rich and high now ya forgot this simple feature that will once again quite literally F**K thousands of people? Ya dumb?

I'm literally picking it up tonight, which has allowed me to take advantage of some significant price discounts now that the Surface Pro 2017 is on the market. All the reviews I've seen indicate that the i5 module is a decent alternative to a laptop for casual users such as myself. Do you do any videos on setting up you Surface Pro 4 out of the box. I'm curious to know if there are any settings I should consider or which are the best apps for drawing, or using as an e-reader. Keep up the great work.

I love it I am watching YouTube on the Surface Pro 5 now and it will replace the iPad too! Best decision ever. I am now a huge Microsoft fan. This Tablet is insane! Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone could please help me solve the flickering screen of my surface Pro 4, I7 16G RAM computer. Lately, my computer screen starts flickering within 10 min of start. Recently, I deleted the Intel (R) Iris (R) Graphics ( under the Display adapters) and upgraded as suggested under MS problem solving tools but did not resolve the problem. The good thing is they use a full sized M.2 so find an old one without a screen or very broken one and fix it up. 300$ can get you a 1800$ touch computer
If you're looking for a college laptop that is pretty respectable I say go for the 8gb i5 model.

Are u using that to edit this and other videos still? I bought one when it was like a year old just b4 SP5 came out. (Always feel like I messed up. Shoulda got the IPad Pro as at the time they were the same price) I honestly never use it. Was thinking about selling or trading. Where do I find that battery cycles info? Guess I could try googling it. Sounds like I should try selling it to college kids or is the 2 year difference now to far? It is pretty old now.

Just picked up a i5 / 8GB / 256GB model on eBay for $80 . The Gen3x2 m.2 hurts, but it handles all my daily work tasks and video playback with no issues. Had to score a pen ($30) and charger ($26) separately and I still haven't decided on a Type cover but so far I am more than happy with this unit in 2022.

I was today years old when I found the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 I bought on Ebay had a MicroSD card slot. 🤯
I still use mine for recording audio, while recording the HD video using the front facing camera. All of my videos were done this way, sometimes using a Sony HD camera and micro SD. The SP4 has better camera quality so it gets more use. The audio comes in on two USB-A ports with RME Fireface audio interfaces. An external Samsung SSD handles most of the softsynths. There’s a MIDI interface for Fishman Tripleplay guitar synth, and Premiere Pro renders most of the video. Recently I’ve moved to Resolve and that has made me want a new SP8. Otherwise the SP4 jams! I7 8 256.
