I need something with more battery life
Since i use a macbook from mid 2009, this device should be a big step up with battery life, although i have more ram in my macbook, and a 500gb ssd, i would go for the base model as a nice on the go laptop

I'm looking to buy a tablet to read comics on does anybody have any recommendations? I feel like a windows tablet would be convenient since I'm very used to windows desktop. I intend to read comics legally through comixology but also potentially download illegal copies.

I was just going to use this for school so I was going to get the second model with the M3 chip & for everyday things which puts me at $700 but I wouldn't mind looking at other options (my budget is very tight since I'm a student so apple is out of the question & Samsung laptops are just too big for me) so does anyone have any good recommendations?

Great review. But i notice that at least half the reviewers need to remind us that light shop and premiere pro run sluggish on the go. Who does that in real life? I have a desk top with 32 gb of ram and a huge monitor for that. Its like saying the volkswagon beetle has problems off road. 😜

I checked and the i3-10100Y version of this has the same performance as my old Surface Pro 2 with a Core i5 from 8-9 years ago. However, using a third of the power, and having double the RAM (although it need more as well with todays OS and apps.) I expect to pay considerably less for the same performance this many years later. The launch price of the SP2 was 900 bucks, but today I can find the i3 version of the Surface Go for 60% of the price of what I paid for my SP2, so I guess it's a similar experience for decently less money. However, I'm not sure about the user experience on a tablet in Win11. Win8 was actually very nice on the early Surfaces (even if it was horrible on desktops and laptops), but I'm not sure if I want a tablet for Win11. But as a secondary device next to my desktop, sure I would consider it. Right now I have a normal laptop for Windows-apps, and an iPad for drawing in OneNote, as well as a desktop at home for heavy duty work. This would be an optimal device for replacing both my aging laptop and iPad in a single device, for relatively little money!

I can’t lie I have the Surface Go 2 and it’s awful. Would never buy a surface tablet again. Only use it for entertainment and light work and struggles with that. Super slow and laggy. Constantly freezes. Would definitely not recommend
I am thinking about buying this device ... to use as a flexible study tool on the go, I am travelling a lot and charging stuff on a car battery vía usb entrance ... is that posible for this device? Or for the Surface go 2?
I just bought the surface go 3 i3-10100y and the performance is a tad better than the 4415y surface go 1. However I've notice a noticeable difference between the both. Clicking on youtube videos load much faster(noticeable). Also, when clicking on folders and windows apps they load faster. In conclusion, if you're happy with you're Surface Go 1 performance don't upgrade. The difference is marginally, but if you want a tad bit faster go for it. The battery life is the same 4 to 6 hours.

7 hours is good battery. Most expensive laptops just last like 3 hours, pathetic.
the i3-10100y processor has a Geekbench score of 1090 single score and 3962 multi core score which is a very good score for a low processor. I'm thinking of buying one.

This is a real palm computer. It can easily beat Apple. Surface pro x comes with sim card slot too. What else you need. Microsoft still rules
I hate Intel dual core APU's with a passion, they are Sloth Beasts. But if you turn up performance to max via battery icon, does work better. Also install Intel graphic software. Helps with performance.

i bought the 8GB RAM with 256GB SSD and love the performace for the price. This laptop works great with Microsoft cloud services i was able to create a power platform solution using this laptop.
why would anyone buy this? get a base model MacBook Air.

I would go for the Surface. I just like having a more compact laptop, as that makes it easier to carry around. It has reasonable, if not really great power for a highschool student like me, and doesn't break the bank the bank like a Macbook (still leaves a fracture). What's the point in having a laptop if it takes up so much space that you can't carry it around?
