Humm well at least it has 3gb ram and its 2020 model, Im not sure with ram frequency speeds ...But i thought this had the 5g? Last budget phone was a moto g4 from amazon, full of amazon bloatware, i often disabled last two years, and has swollen battery and mirrored screen that feels like a hack at times!

mid range phones are quite resilient but what really keeps me from using one is the camera quality, there's just something very frustrating when you can't quite get the shot that you wanted. Overall the performance drawbacks would be fine if all it can do is some social media and music as long as the camera is good, if you want to game that bad on the go then just get a switch instead.

The new lowest tier phones are nothing like ye olde budget phones, I don't own a current a budget phone, however after seeing a couple of them in action I'm 100% sure they work. A couple of years back I got plastered and took my G Flex 2 for a swim, after that I was stuck with a budget phone I borrowed from my mate and that was a nightmare. Text comes in, wait 3 secs, incoming call, wait 5 secs for the caller to show up, camera, at least 10 seconds spin up time. I tried running a game, don't even ask how that went. Getting a call while viewing pictures in gallery was what broke me, ended up buying a Nokia 3310 copy.
cheap... $50 or less is cheap for me, just bought a phone for $34
I'd say my favorite of the cheap phones and one I recommend to a lot of my friends that need a phone that works well without spending a grand is BLU which you could find on Amazon. I'd love to see you be able to get some of their models and actually try them out take them for a drive ass emergency backups
I think buying a used or an old med range smartphone is a better choice than spending money on a "budget" Phone can't introduce a decent experience with at least the basics

@3:29 IMHO THESE are the devices that were LG's downfall. I knew so many people who had these uber budget LG phones from networks like metropcs and boost mobile and they were utter rubbish in every task you gave it. The problem was that people didn't believe that LG made high end models that were a night and day difference in terms of performance and features , so when people looked to upgrade they always wanted another brand since LG was a "beater phone brand". They started to do better when they came out with the stylo series, but the damage to their image was irreparable.
Under $150 you can't expect much more than the basics, and this seems to give you just that. My only concern would be the issue of buying an "unlocked" phone that isn't actually unlocked. I'm looking at you Amazon 🙄
