disappointing operating system
First of all I would like to compliment for clarity and absence of any muzak nuisance or annoying flashings in this very interesting review. My experience with the device for a week so far, could be assessed as positive. Just few issues which I reckon might have to be ascribed more to my IT illiteracy than the device specs: 1) I can't get rid of a very annoying end call alert sound. 2) I can't locate any option to activate the flashing notifications for message or calls (very useful when the device is settled on silent mode.) 3) I haven been able so far activate display unlocking option through fingerprint rather than password check; actually I haven't yet been able to set any lock that works while the phone is switched on. 4) I had to install NOVA launcher just to get rid of the bloody Google search bar. Generally speaking my judgment is enthusiastic of the phone, but I have a feeling that android is leapfrogging backward in complexity rather than evolving in simplicity. For many functions there should be simple toggling tabs, rather than abstruse menus and sub-menus.

The reason Rugged Phones have the Speaker on the Back of the Phone, I believe, is to Protect the Speaker in Case it is Dropped.!
Ive had some terrible extra rugged phones from Asia! Basically, whatever service I installed, There were bunches of harassing texts from other countries! I am very interested in this phone, so I hope there is some truth in advertising.

Does anyone know is this phone will update to Android 12 when it comes time for the update? The reasons I ask is I have a bv9800 pro and it never updated to Android 10 and basically have a heavy paperweight. it is great! i finally found the button for night vision video.. i am embarassed: it is directly to the right of the white circle; i thought it was to switch between cameras but it is to switch between video and picture mode for Night Vision yay! so great, already took a shower with it to clean off the milk that got spilled on it.

Everything looked great except the processor - makes No sense to be this close to 2022 and not have a Dimensity 1000 or a Dimensity 1100 in that phone - if they did that with the processor and kept the other specs the same - this phone would be very popular in N America among hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, etc Why not make multiple versions with diff processors for different segments of the market. I won't be buying any phone with a G95 chip in it ever

Wrong! WP15 DOES NOT have a 3.5mm jack! I have one in front of me and there is no jack anywhere! The WP15 is a beast! I agree with one of the posters below that it should have IR video, too. Oh well. Unfortunately, it DOES NOT WORK ON VERIZON! Just in case anyone cares. It is not compatible with any LTE network! Care to guess what service, what ONLY service we have where I live? LOL Also, the price is under $300.00 USD. Last, get rid of that cheesy awful music! It's annoying!

The wp17 is the only one that says it works with Verizon. Wp5 didn't list anyone so it's a crapshoot.
