I just ordered the S20fe after about 4 years with my old S9+. Support has basically ended now and its suffering from screen burn so its time to move on. I managed to get the S20fe 5G for £500.

I got this phone the week this dropped and this phones like a nokia. Ive face planted the screen on concrete, to it falling off my forklift on multiple occasions , to it sliding down the train station on the back and its like nokia made there own samsung that's drop proof. Although a few occasions i did have a screen protector and a case but majority of the time I didn't and my phone is still waiting for a scratch almost 2 years later

When the phone gets hot phone multi-touch and touchscreen lose it responsiveness and total no touch specially ON half side of the screen near camera where it get so much hot! Rubbish phone!! Samsung release an update about this issue of the screen but still no use its stilll not working!! I've contacted the customer service of samsung they're so useless they will only ask you to hard reset the phone but it doesn't do anything!! I wish i bought this phone on amazon so i could get a full refund i sooooo regret buying this phone! AVOID AVOID AVOID THIS PHONE!!!

It's crap....the alarm is a stupid design. Touch screen issues, also when trying to open a youtube video link from an email...it opens the video in a SUPER Tiny window you can't increase the size...hate the clock format...when the screen goes dark...unlike other phones you can still see the time. You have to open the phone by touching the power button to check the time...friggin stupid!!...time shows up in top left in small numbers...no fixing that unless you want to change the font size for the entire phone...why the hell do people like this POS??...bots by Samsung to promote this crap phone??
My first smart phone was the Galaxy S. Loved it. The S3 was great. The S5 was state of the art wonderful. I loved my S7 and until I dropped and broke my S10 it was the best phone ever made in my view. Now I have a Galaxy s20FE 5G. Its a piece of junk. I have had it 3 days and I hate it. I am about to use the hammer to smash it before I go by another manufacturer's phone for the first time.

Funny as in UK the 5G woth snapdragon is better than the actual s20 series. Battery is awesome., flat screen, no glass back but till wireless charging. Top.

This phone is TERRIBLE. My battery drops to 1 % even after being 9 after being plugged into wall. Do not buy this phone. You will kick yourself. I'm using really old I phone and that's more reliable I got the second 20 on bill pay and so angry. I thought it was a bad handset but it isn't as this is the second it's a paperweight not a working phone and I live in a rough city.

The lower price, flagship features and reliability are the reason why i still want to buy this Samsung S20 amazing Fan Edition phone now Unfortunately, devoid of 3.5 mm headphone jack may turn me off once it was launching in 2020. Btw i still kinda like this phone since its way more cheaper now for 2 years old flagship and what does really matter is that there are still software updates and security patch up to more than 2 years if i not mistaken.

The only two things holding me back from saying this is gonna be my next phone are the design and finish. I think the Samsung Galaxy a53 looks and feels more premium for some reason so I'm just gonna leave it up to whichever is cheaper when I decide to buy.

Just an update for everyone, after the One UI 3 update, there was a secondary update just today 1/28 that now shows 5G at the top of the phone for mobile networks instead of LTE+ or LTE, Again if you purchased the non UW version, this is the low band 5g and not the ultra wideband that verizon offers.

Thanks for making this helpful video. On another, someone mentioned that you lose Verizon voicemail on the unlocked s20 fe. Is that true in your experience? Also, what was the activation process like for yoy? Did you simply put in your sim card, turn on and everything carried over?

Version only has like 2% coverage world wide for 5G UW coverage. And cost an extra 10 dollars a month. Not to mention the S20 5G UW doesnt allow a Micro SD card storage upgrade and only 8gbs of Ram. I learnt this the hard way and will be returning my S20 5G UW today.

When checking out the unlocked s20 fe on the best buy website, it says all the carriers that it supports (verizon is left out) so I automatically assumed it wouldn't work at all. From what I understand after watching your video is that I can in fact buy the unlocked s20 fe from best buy and throw my current verizon sim into it - thanks!
If I am getting this right... If you bought this directly from Samsung (not Verizon) this FE 5G *UWB Edition* will support AT&T and T-Mobile ? Samsung is currently selling the (1) FE 5G and (2) FE 5G UWB I'm assuming they're both Unlocked.
I bought the unlocked s20 fe, my carrier is verizon and I am not able to connect to verizon's 5g, but I am getting better speeds around 160mbps download. When I reached samsung they did confirm me that it will not work with verizon's 5g but will work with LTE. and also samsung is very uncertain the UW verizon version will work with other carriers 5G.
Nice work with the video Skunny! I ran into an issue this morning while on Samsung's website. I was checking trade-in value for my XS Max (We have 3 on our account. Trade-in currently is $520) and just automatically chose the unlocked version. Just before checkout there was a popup notifying me that Verizon's 5G UW is not supported. So thanks to Skunny we know swapping SIM cards works no trouble, the unknown is if it will connect to the low level 5G. I checked my area here in Oakland County, Mi and according to Verizon low level 5G is everywhere including my neighborhood. if I pull the trigger on this phone I will report back to this comments section to update my experience. I then went back and chose the "Verizon" version of the phone and pricing is the same, so nothing different there. However, Samsung forced me to connect to my Verizon account to get the phone setup on my account, when I did I kept getting an error. If you attempt to activate a "5G UW" compatible phone Verizon will force you to change Data plans. In my case the current Start unlimited plan we are on supports the low level 5G, I would have move to the play more unlimited which is $10 more per line. Only $10 for me, but if all three of us decided to switch to the Galaxy it would cost me $30 more per month for 5G UW that I would not be able to use for who knows how long. I found 1 video that tested the low level 5G vs 4G using iPhones (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCnucdt9Hlk) looks like the upload speed is about 2GB faster, but download speed was a little slower. Not sure I'm gonna make the switch, but that Galaxy looks like a real nice phone.

Question about the section on the battery: were you trying to suggest that the phone can stay powered while gaming for 110 to 118 hours? Without being charged? Like that would be amazing but that sounds a little overdramatic.

Thank you so much for the review. I was on your site comparing the S20 FE to the Samsung Galaxy A53.. I don't know all the technical stuff but for the most part they look pretty similar in specs. I have to wonder why the S20 is $699 and the 2 yr newer A53 is $450. Looking to buy one of these very soon.

The best feature I like to is to expand memory. The newer model doesn't have that. And just for the extra 128 GB, they cost 150 EUR extra. It seems they are continuing Apple's practice.
