Still living my S9+ after 4 years but no software update anymore. The screen , sound, iris scanner and camera all are functional. Battery getting down holding less charge.

The only thing about the S9 is it only supports 8.0 version meaning no matter how good the specs are your not getting full performance because the software is outdated. That is why this phone is slow and lags. Not because the gpu, ram, display, processor is bad but because the software is no longer updated meaning it won’t function like it did when it first came out. The S20 is $300 buy that instead. 2018 and 2019 were not good years to buy phones because the S21 ultra is 3x as good and only 2 years difference. S21u is 2 years old and still the best phone spec wise. Whereas the S9 was outdated in its first few years. So these were just thrown out to make money at the end of the first iPhone era. This phone is only good if you got the Android 12 version before they removed being able to update the software from 8.0 to 12.0 . If you got 8.0. It’s time to upgrade. They only allowed you to upgrade to V12.0 on the S9 because it launched with the 8.0v that was already a year and a half old. Sure they are better than the IPhone 7. It’s newer that’s how it works. But phones litterly a year later we’re 3x as good as phones from 2018. That’s the only reason you could update to newer software versions in the first place.
I got the S9 back when it came out and mine has some screen burn and it's the game Dragon ball legends. I recently switched to the S22 Ultra I know the S23 lineup is coming out but the longevity of the 22 Ultras so far is worth it. That's how I've been eveytime I've gotten a phone. I got the S9 later after release as well and had the phone for 4 years.

The S9 is a great phone! I have one and I used it for years. My problem is battery life. It's just too short. I can't get a full day out of it without having to plug it in. But it is a very comfortable phone to hold.

I loved this phone, the night camera was amazing my iPhone 12 Pro still can’t beat. I only traded it in due to the fact the battery never stayed charged maybe it was an app issue but I’m still going to buy it again!

After 4 years, apart from battery which probably has less than 50% of original capacity, the S9 holds up incredibly well. Still lighting fast and almost no glitches.
i am still using a Samsung Galaxy S9 from 2018, still going strong except for the battery, now used as a backup phone. i just upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and i find the battery life better than my S9
Why I would recommend the galaxy s9. Flash custom software on it, super easy and the thing is super snappy. Even snappier than the s20 from my tests and now you even have 120hz capabilities without much of a hit on the battery with basically zero bloatware. Official Sumsung updates slow down the phones with time because they want you to buy the news one but some of us know better. On custom software, I highly recommend this phone any day.
Got this phone and I hate it. The screen is terrible, you really need to push down with force to use it the screen sensitivity is terrible. Even phones made before this don't have a this Terrible touch screen. Is there a fix for this?

I love my Galaxy S9! Best phone I've ever owned. Mine doesn't glitch either. It has a great battery life as well. It's tough, water resistant, and has an awesome camera. I don't plan on getting another phone until I absolutely have to. Best phone purchase ever.

bigger battery doesnt mean better battery life ... its like teling gpu power by graphics memory, or car power by size of tank...
Three days ago I was unfortunately forced to finally retire my S7 Edge and I now got my girlfriends' old S9 Edge because she got the S22+ and I never truly noticed how amazing the screen is of the S9. And it feels exceptionally snappy and up-to-date. Just gonna replace the battery and I think I can easily get another 4+ years of life out of the S9 Edge.
Old samsung phones were really better, i mean look at it, nowadays this form-factor phone called compact phone, but this form factor was flagship back then, which i really appreciated l.

I've just switched from samsung s9 plus to Iphone 14 after long and consistent use about 4 plus years. Even though I changed my main daily driver device,I can't get rid of my s9 plus. It still working perfectly fine (except battery but I didn't change any battery since it was bought). The 16:9 ratio landscape and its edge screen is perfect for content consumption such as watching movies and youtube. I also wrote this comment on my s9 plus and I search back and watch this just to appreciate how good the s 9 plus was.

Why does all smart phones except for LG G4, G3 and G5.Has to zoom in to fit and lose the ratio screen of pictures also letters while watching YouTube or your Videos? It really pisses me off big time! That's why I still used LG G4 and LG G5. I can't find any smart phones at all that has the feature like LG G5 & G4?
