Its just too small of a screen. I wish they were a little larger in that aspect. I have a Samsung S8 Active but the screen was finally cracked. Had it since the day they came out. But At&t doesn't offer the s8 anymore but they do offer this one. Its a little more expensive than the other medium grade phones but how much worse would the computing power be? I guess I could just fix the screen.
I'm looking for a replacement for my LG v20, the last phone with a removable battery. I've been buying them new in box on Ebay whenever I break the previous one, then install a ZeroLemon 10,000 mah battery. So it is easily larger than the Sonim. But it seems nobody makes such phones anymore, and while the LG works great when first booted up, it tends to bog down real bad over the course of 6 months or so as updates and apps are installed.

Nice demo of phone. Very informative and useful visuals. I just ordered one based on your review. The regular I-phones and Samsung phones are nice but they can not handle any kind of abuse; and everyone from time to time does something stupid, (drop, get wet) Unfortunately have "leased this thru Sprint", which has the worst customer service of any company I've ever dealt with. Looking for an upgrade from the Kyocera Duraforce. I'm curious how well the speaker phone has held up and the antenna reception? I use the speaker phone constantly and my biggest complaint about the Duraforce is that the speakers aren't nearly as loud as they used to be. I'm in remote areas often as well so I'd love to see that video on your booster and research what to use.

My current phone (kyocera duraforce2) is pretty broken, and I have at best one or two bars, and in the high valleys including at my lambing barn where I am often this time of year I don't have service. I am newly on call at a neighbor's farm, and I would like to not miss their calls, because when I'm needed I have to be there ASAP.

Great phone had one screen replaced under warranty. and after 3 years of use and taking lots of abuse its officially dead. RIP XP8. Gonna try something different, but defiantly recommend this phone, it died w no fault of its own. Had great service. Relatively quick streaming, and battery life was amazing!

Hi, thinking of one for my dad on the farm, how is the reception pull for the phone? I have a Verizon network Samsung s20 and his will be with verizon, but i know some phones pull reception differently.

i like the battery maH n screensize n storage of it, but what puts me off is the weight n fatness of the phone. I wish there was a slim version of phone with same specs. I hate modern phones with 5+6"" size screens. i want em for podcasts n music mostly.

Wicked phone!! I have owned the same XP8 for 3 years. I busted my screen dropping it from hip hight onto wood floor. After 2 years. I had a new screen installed and it lasted another year before I busted the screen again.. fell off my work bench onto concrete. My back button coating is flaking off. However.... Battery is amazing even after 3 years. Its been to the bottom of pools rivers, fell off a moving car and went down the road end for end about a dozens times at 80 kmh. Has had welding slag fall on it...countless drops, fumbles, and tumbles. Obviously it no fault to the phone that it's busted up. But still 3 years of hard use/abuse. Still performing just fine. And I currently have tape over my screen to protect my fingers from the glass So i can use it. I would have been through 4 phones by now. If it wasn't for sonim.
3:50 you can also get the usb-c to headphone aux cable for head phones that's what I use or I just use Bluetooth
My xp8 is also an unlocked xp8 with AT&T logo and it is also from Canada. It uses android 7.1 and has a lot of annoying issues which I see are listed here and elsewhere. Would 8.1 be an improvement? Which builds can uograde to 10.1? Mine was made early 2018 and wont update.

I have had my Sonim XP8 for just under a month now. Never going back to Apple ever again. I live in a rural area and was so frustrated with dropped calls which all my neighbours suffer from as well. Haven't had a single dropped call since I began using the my Sonim.
Just a follow up, I was considering this device and in your review you talk about the unlimited warranty but I see on the Sonim home page sometime between the time of the original review and July 2021 the warranty has been reduced to manufacturer defect only.

I've had my X8 for ~4 months and im more than pleased and satisfied with the durability and the amazing loudness of the alarm clock feature. I still need to call sonim to clarify some issues regarding settings and usage of camera being that i previously had the Samsung Galaxy s7 Active i am not yet familiar with sonim camera and file organizer methodology. Anyway i still need to watch the rest of your videos, If Sonim is reading this, they should know that your videos helped me to ignore the hater reviews that some people put out there. I chose to go with a brand new phone (not second hand or refurbished) i like it alot to say the least. Thank you Scramy Productions.

Im going to be honest. The sonim xp8 has been the worst phone ive owned. I only out it a few months ago. The screen glitches while typing. Now the microphone stopped working. Im trying to get it warrantied.

hey scrammy, my phone (sonim xp8) is stuck in an infinite reboot cycle with no other signs of life. ive tried to get to the reboot menu and it just gets to the hello screen and reboots again. ive took the battery and sim cards in and out multiple times, idk whats wrong with it. its only 2-3 months old and has only been dropped a few times. any ideas? started to not work about 20 minutes after being submerged for about a minute submerged in 120 degree water, which it should have been able to handle.
